Mayfair Mews House by Callender Howorth

Marek SzubertLondon based interior design company, Callender Howorth speicalises in all aspects of interior design.

Located in Mayfair, London, Callender Howorth undertook  a luxury refurbishment of this mews house, where space was tight. The key was to open the propery up and create the illusion of space.

Using glazed glass walls on each of the three levels, and creating an impressively designed white marble courtyard, the designers managed to open the building, allowing for more light. The property is styled with an eclectic mix of modern art and furniture.

We had 5 minutes with interior designer Marek Szubert about the Mayfair Mews project:

Where did the inspiration for this design come from?

The client wanted a place with real wow factor and we noticed a great vintage James Bond poster in his old place. So we went for gadgets, galmour and greatness!

What is the first thing you start with on a new project?

It is very important to listen to the client and understand what they like and want. Every client is different so we want to make sure that their home really reflects their personality.

What is a common misconception about interior design?

People that follow fads and what is in fashion. It dates very quickly.

Would you care to share one design tip with us?

Take your time! Don't rush and really plan your designs.

What is the most important thing to get right when designing someone's home?

A feeling of calmness and a smile on the clients face!
